All Priests begin their Classic with the One-Handed Maces and Wand skills learned, and they will need to learn how to equip Daggers and Staves.ĭefault Weapon Skills for Classic PriestsĮvery Priest race starts off with one weapon skill learned by default. Priests can equip Staves, One-Handed Maces, Daggers and Wands. Wands are also very important for Alliance Priests even after reaching level 60 - Priests can use Wands to regenerate mana whenever a Paladin applies to a mob. Although this is important to all casters while leveling in Classic, it is even more important for Priests, as their damage is rather weak early on (before reaching Shadow talent milestones such as Mind Flay) and highly improved by the early Discipline talent. However, while leveling, you will want to at least keep your Wand upgraded as you level - Wands are a very effective way of dealing damage without consuming any Mana and can help save time between killing enemies. You should stick to whatever weapon grants you the most amount of stats. There is no real distinction between what kinds of weapons Priests can use, as all weapons are essentially stat sticks. As Priests do not directly use their weapons to attack enemies, weapons for Priests serve more as a stat stick, naturally providing a high amount of useful stats for Priests such as Healing Power, Stamina, and Intellect.
